Balochistan minister pledges strict action against terrorists, their facilitators

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove on Wednesday reviewed the law and order situation in the province after recent terrorist attacks.

Presiding over a meeting, the minister resolved to take strict action against terrorist outfits and their facilitators.

Security officials briefed the meeting about the overall law and order situation and recent bomb blasts and terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

The meeting decided to ensure implementation of the National Action Plan against terrorists in letter and spirit.

Law, order situation in Balochistan reviewed

It was informed that a roadmap has been drawn for upholding the supremacy of law. The provincial cabinet has also approved a five-year comprehensive plan to ensure security and peace and order in Balochistan

The home minister said that nobody would be allowed to destroy peace in the province which has been restored after our security forces rendered immense sacrifices.

He said the law and order situation had now become far better than during the previous governments. β€œIt is the result of continuous and exhausting efforts of police, other law enforcement agencies and security forces,” he said.

He said security forces need essential weapons and equipment to control crime in the province and the provincial government is committed to equipping them properly.

Mr Langove told the meeting that with good governance and by providing better employment opportunities to youths, extremist tendencies and negative leanings can be controlled.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Tribal Affairs Haider Ali Shikoh, Inspector General of Police Mohsin Hassan Butt, Deputy Inspector General Abdul Razzaq Cheema and other senior police officials.
