Bhootani warns against political appointments in education dept

QUETTA: Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, member of the National Assembly from Gwadar-Lasbela, has said that he will approach the court of law if the education department makes recruitments for the vacancies based on a list of names provided by a political party.

Talking to reporters on Sunday, he alleged that a political party was pressurising the authorities concerned for filling the vacant posts in the department according to the list it has provided to the education department.

“Vacancies in the education department are for the entire province and not for a political party,” he said.

“I will take the party to the court of law if vacancies were filled on its recommendation,” he said, adding that the education department should make appointments on merit.

About the construction of the Chaman-Karachi national highway, he said it was not an ordinary project as it needed time and a large amount of funds.

Replying to a question about the repairing of the national highway passing through Lasbela and Hub, he said the condition of the road was worsening, creating hurdles in the flow of traffic.

However, he said repair work on the portion of Quetta-Karachi national highway in Hub had started and would be completed in the next few months.

He said that the tender for the repairing of the Hub portion was released thrice but no contractor showed interest.

However, he said, the repair work would be completed soon.

Replying to a query about establishing the Balochistan Fishermen Cooperative Society by the government he said, “Except for one or two fishermen, all members of the society have zero knowledge about fishing which wouldn’t be in favour of the local fishermen community.”

Mr Bhootani said that he would work for protecting the rights of local fishermen.
