CM announces regularisation of 3,400 rescue employees

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced regularisation of 3,400 employees of Rescue-1122 and said the employees who have served for three years will be regularised in two weeks.

At a ceremony held in the commemoration of the completion of 15 years of the Punjab Emergency Service Rescue-1122 at Emergency Services Academy, Tokhar Niaz Beg, on Monday, the chief minister cut a cake and appreciated the professional capabilities and skills of rescuers.

He said the dream of the Punjab Emergency Service had been materialised, adding that credit goes to Rescue-1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer.

The officials of Rescue-1122 have made it as one of the best institutions in the country.

PROGRAMME: Mr Buzdar reviewed on Monday proposals for implementing the Punjab Municipal Services Programme.

He said the programme would provide necessary facilities to the people. Up to Rs27 billion have been allocated for the programme under which cleanliness and sewerage system and provision of clean drinking water would be improved. Similarly, non-functional water supply and sewerage schemes would be restored and necessary machinery would also be procured to improve the cleanliness system.

The chief minister said the Punjab Cities Programme would be implemented with the World Bank and initially 16 cities had been included to the programme while the master planning of 100 tehsil cities would be done as well.

He gave approval to need-based recruitments in the local government department against vacant posts and directed the department to take immediate steps in this regard.

The chief minister expressed strong indignation over the slow-pace of work in public welfare schemes in south Punjab, and directed that action would be initiated against negligent officers.

CHILD’S DEATH: Mr Buzdar took notice of the recovery of the body of a nine-year-old child in Jesserwala area of Daska and sought a report from the Gujranwala regional police officer.

He ordered early arrest of the culprits.
