Judge recuses himself from plea against CM’s brother

MULTAN: A judge of the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, recused himself from hearing a petition challenging the ‘promotion’ of the younger brother of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

The petition was filed by Bashir Ahmed Chohan of Dera Ghazi Khan who claimed the chief minister`s brother was performing duties as Jamadar in the Border Military Police but remain absent most of the time. He stated two new posts of Risaldar (BS-16) had been notified to accommodate his brother.

He said the bureaucracy was directed to accommodate and promote the brother of the chief minister even though the basic qualification for the post was graduation but he was just intermediate.

He said traditionally Risaldar was selected from some specific tribe which was unjust. He pleaded that the senior-most official of the force should hold the office.

He stated although the BMP was working in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts, the two seats were created only for Dera Ghazi Khan district.

He requested the court to set aside the creation of the posts.

Justice Rassal Hassan Syed recused himself from the case and sent it to the senior judge of the bench with request to assign the case to another judge.
