Naval collaboration with Germany discussed

ISLAMABAD: German Naval Chief Vice Admiral Andreas Krause and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi on Monday discussed bilateral naval collaboration, maritime security and various avenues to enhance interoperability between the two navies.

Upon arrival at the naval headquarters, Vice Admiral Krause was received by Admiral Abbasi. A Pakistan Navy contingent presented a guard of honour. The dignitary laid a wreath at the Shuhada’s Monument. He was then introduced to the principal staff officers.

Later, Vice Admiral Krause at a meeting with Admiral Abbasi discussed naval collaboration between the two countries, maritime security and various avenues to enhance interoperability between the Pakistan and German Navies.

Admiral Abbasi highlighted Pakistan Navy’s efforts for ensuring maritime security in the region, including Pakistan Navy’s initiative of regional maritime security patrols. He thanked Vice Admiral Krause for German Navy observers’ participation in the Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19 hosted by Pakistan Navy in Karachi early this year.
