Challengers score 2nd win

LAHORE: A solid knock from Javeria Rauf and Fatima Sana’s four-wicket haul helped PCB Challengers beat PCB Blasters by three wickets in the National Triangular One-day Wom­en’s Cricket Champion­ship at the Lahore Gymkhana Ground on Saturday.

The Challengers chased down 185 posted by the Blasters in the 48th over for the loss of seven wickets.

Javeria, who hit eight fours during 86-ball 48, put on 61 for the third wicket with Natalia Pervaiz (22), while Diana Baig also contributed an unbeaten 41-ball 35 (three fours).

For the Blasters, Aliya Riaz took 3-45.

Earlier, the Blasters’ Umaima Sohail struck 73 off 121 balls (seven fours) to help her side make 185-8 in their 50 overs after being put into bat.

Fatima Sana grabbed 4-34.

This was the Challengers’ second win on the trot.
