Slight decrease in mugginess

LAHORE: Temperatures dropped a few degrees C in the plains of the country on Sunday but it still remained muggy in various cities including Lahore.

It remained hazy and partly cloudy in Lahore, keeping the maximum temperature to 36 degrees C. Humidity nevertheless caused mugginess that though not so strong as it was two days ago, caused a great deal of inconvenience.

The Met department said that the weather pattern reflected the typical gradual withdrawal of the monsoon currents from the country.

According to it, weak monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is also present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next two days.

Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain/wind-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi and Lahore divisions.

It forecast rain/wind-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during Sunday night.

Rain/wind-thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday.

Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
