Ton-up Taha powers Metropolitan CC to big win

KARACHI: All-rounder Mohammad Taha scored a brilliant century while inspiring Metropolitan CC to a clinical 250-run rout of Shama Sports in the latest fixture of the KCCA Zone-VI Dawood Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament at the TMC Ground here on Wednesday.

Batting first, Metropolitan CC amassed 302 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Taha led the onslaught as he blasted six sixes and nine fours in his belligerent knock of 130, while Osama Razzaq hit a rapid 54 off 30 deliveries with the aid five boundaries and a six.

Wicket-keeper/batsman Abdur Rehman also batted well to strike 50 that included six fours as he put on 131 for the sixth wicket with Taha.

Israr Ahmad took three wickets for 62 runs and Subhan Bukhari bagged 2-54.

Paceman Zeeshan Zameer then grabbed four wickets for 13 runs as Shama Sports capitulated in 12.4 overs for a measly 52 all out.
