Young doctors call off strike

QUETTA: Young doctors have called off their strike and announced resuming duties in all government hospitals from Monday (today).

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, President of the Young Doctors Association Dr Mohammad Yasar said the protest had been ended after the health authorities assured them of meeting their demands.

He said that the authorities had promised to provide all medicines and equipment to government hospitals and resolve other issues facing the young doctors.

The doctors had started their strike 17 days ago and last night they had threatened that 200 young doctors would tender their resignation collectively if their demands were not met.
