Eight factories sealed in Karak for gas theft

KARAK: The district administration sealed eight gypsum factories for using illegal gas in Jandri and Mithakhel union councils on Wednesday.

Assistant commissioner, Karak, Abdus Samad launched the operation against the factories on the complaints of domestic consumers that the main reason of low gas pressure in the district was the gas theft by the owners of factories.

The assistant commissioner paid surprise visits to the factories and sealed eight of them for using illegal gas. Talking to mediapersons on the occasion, he said the factories were using illegal gas which caused low gas pressure in households.

He said the low gas pressure issue would be resolved through integrated efforts. He said there would be no low gas pressure issue in the district if there was no gas theft and asked the people to support the district administration’s move for resolving the issue.

He resolved that strict action would be taken against those who were found involved in gas theft.

REVENUE RECORD COMPUTERISATION: The additional deputy commissioner has asked the revenue officials to expedite the process of computerisation of record.

This he said while chairing a meeting of the revenue officials on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by all assistant commissioners, tehsildars, naib tehsildars and revenue officials.

The additional DC said that with the computerisation of revenue record many land disputes would come to an end.
