Commission to seek health, education ministries’ input

ISLAMABAD: The commission on the capital master plan on Wednesday while discussing issues of health and education of the city decided to seek input from the ministries of health and education.

The commission met here at CDA headquarters under the convenership of CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed.

The commission, besides other issues, is also looking into the issues of private schools and clinic, which are operating in residential areas in violation of city’s existing master plan.

Sources said that meeting also decided to carry out transportation studies of adjoining cities such as Rawalpindi, Taxila, Murree.

A participant of the meeting said the commission also decided to study bylaws of other metropolitan cities for making better bylaws for Islamabad.

The commission is yet to take final decision on selecting a theme of Islamabad, sources said.

Within a month the commission will finalise its recommendations on important issues such as bylaws of buildings while later on a consultant will carry out comprehensive revision of Islamabad.
