‘Rangers pursuing boy’s lynching case’

KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Wednesday said they were pursuing the recent case of lynching of a boy by a mob in Bahadurabad and the culprits involved in it would be taken to task.

The spokesperson for the Rangers said the paramilitary force personnel received information on their helpline that citizens had got hold of a 15-year-old boy, who was allegedly trying to commit a robbery in a house in Kokan Society of Bahadurabad on Aug 17, and the residents were beating him.

After receiving the information, the Rangers team reached the spot where they found the boy, Rehan, in an unconscious state.

The Rangers along with the police took the boy to the JPMC, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“Pakistan Rangers Sindh took immediate action and detained the house owner, Daniyal, and his accomplice Zubair,” said the spokesperson, adding that three more suspects identified as Saud Zaki, Anas Nazeer and Shariq were also apprehended and handed over to the police.

Under directions of the DG Rangers Sindh, the case was being pursued by a Rangers team after ascertaining the causes of the murder, said the spokesperson.

The official vowed that the Rangers would ensure that the culprits involved in the case would be brought to justice.
