Two killed, as many injured in city

LAHORE: Two young men were killed and two others injured in the city on Sunday.

Amjad Ali, 20, a resident of Batapur, had a dispute over a residential plot with his neighbour Kashif. Ali was grazing his goats in the plot when his opponents armed with iron rods and clubs came there and attacked him. Ali’s father and uncle tried to rescue him and the three people suffered critical wounds and were taken to hospital where Ali succumbed to his injuries.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case on the complaint of victim’s father.

The investigating officer said both parties were having dispute over a residential plot and it resulted in murder of a man. He said the suspects had fled the scene and raids were being conducted to arrest them.

At Baghbanpura, a young man was found stabbed to death. Police said Akbar, 22, was found dead in Mehmood Booti area. He was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and started investigation.

ROOF COLLAPSE: Two persons were injured when the roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Rang Mahal on Sunday.

Two men in their 40s were in their rented house near Haveli Mian Sahib when its roof caved in. Both of them were trapped under the debris and suffered injuries. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted them to hospital where they were said to be stable.
