CDA completes work on extension of H-11 graveyard

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed development work of phase-III of H-11 graveyard, with the cost of Rs17.7 million.

The extension will provide space for around 28,000 graves. The developed site will soon be handed over to Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.

Under this project, 86 plots have been properly demarcated, footpaths constructed and a drainage system has been established.

Furthermore, proper lighting in the area is also being ensured. Each demarcated and developed plot will have space for 332 graves.

In this way, newly developed portion would have capacity of around 28000 graves.

Presently phase I and II consisting of around 64 plots have reached their capacity. Annually, on average basis, around 1,800 to 2,000 graves are being filled, in this way new facility will full fill the burial requirements of the city for next 10 to 15 years.

The graveyard in H-11 ran out of space, therefore, there was a dire need to develop the phase-III of the graveyard.

As the development work in the phase-III of the graveyard has been completed, it will be soon placed at the disposal of MCI.
