Factory driver shot dead in FB Area

KARACHI: A 50-year-old man was shot dead on Saturday morning in FB Industrial Area over some personal enmity, police said.

They added that Ajj Wali left his home near Shafiq Mor and was on his way to work in a factory on a motorbike. Gunmen on another motorbike, who apparently followed him, attacked him from behind near a beverage factory in Block-22 of FB Area. He sustained critical bullet wounds in the head and died. The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

Area SHO Qamar Javed said the murder appeared to be the outcome of some personal enmity. He said a few months back, some unknown men had threatened him of dire consequences, but the exact nature of enmity could not be ascertained immediately. The victim worked as a driver in the factory.

The police have registered a case against unknown suspects.

Oxford-bound heroin seized in courier office

KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force Sindh claimed on Saturday to have seized a heroin parcel which was supposed to be taken to the United Kingdom through a courier service, an ANF spokesperson said.

Acting on a tip-off, the ANF Clifton police station personnel seized a parcel at the courier service office and found 890 grams of heroin in it. The contraband was concealed in seven cartons.
