Medical board says no sign of torture on Sana’s son-in-law

FAISALABAD: Rana Shehryar, the son- in-law of former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah, has alleged torture by police and submitted an application with the judicial magistrate for his medical examination.

In an application submitted on Aug 10, Shehryar said the Faisalabad police had taken him into custody from the judicial complex, Lahore without any justification. He said police had tortured him and his medical examination should be ordered.

Amid tight security, police produced Shehryar before the medical board of the District Headquarters hospital on Friday. The board conducted the medical examination and categorically stated that no torture sign had been found on his body.

Shehryar had been arrested in connection with the murder of two brothers Asif Butt and Imran Butt who were gunned down in two incidents in the Samanabad police jurisdiction.

A couple of days ago, both parties -- Shehryar and Butt -- scuffled on court premises in the presence of police. A case was registered against Shehryar and his accomplices.
