Gas outages trouble Peshawar residents

PESHAWAR: Frequent natural gas outages coupled with low pressure have troubled the residents of the provincial capital.

Anjuman-i-Tajiran Peshawar, a traders’ association, said in a press release issued here the other day that domestic consumers, owners of CNG stations and hoteliers on Kohat Road, Charsadda Road, University Road, Ring Road, Hayatabad and GT Road were faced with hours-long unannounced gas outages.

In this respect, we held a number of meetings with general manager of Sui Northern Gas and Pipelines Limited but to no avail, the release said.

The traders’ body said that it had called an urgent meeting of the hoteliers and CNG association to give a strike call against SNGPL authorities.
