Bank or Billingsgate?

IT was a hot sunny day when I visited the National Bank of Pakistan’s branch in F8 to pay my domicile fee and what I saw there has left me flabbergasted.

I went inside the branch and the bank was giving the pictorial representation of a Sunday bazaar at a time when lots people were milling around a single counter abusing and shoving each other so as to get their work done at the earliest. Nobody bothered to stand in a queue.

Although there was a ticket machine, it was not working. It took me around two and half hours just to get to the counter. I was frustrated to see the entire atmosphere and the boorishness behaviour of the bank staff.

The staff’s behaviour was so pathetic that some of the customers started arguing with the management.

Instead of assisting customers’, the branch management was shouting at them. I can’t even think of such a situation in the current era where everything is digitalised.

Who is responsible for such a dreadful behaviour of the management? I’m sure many others like me are similarly concerned.
