JUI-F finalises plan for ‘million march’

PESHAWAR: The provincial executive council of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F has chalked out a strategy for the ‘million march’ to be organised in Peshawar on July 25.

A statement issued here on Saturday said that party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was briefed at the council meeting about the upcoming ‘million march’ and Islamabad’s lockdown after Muharram.

Opposition parties have planned to observe black day across the country on July 25, while JUI-F has announced Namoos-i-Risalat March in Peshawar the same day.

The statement said that newly-elected provincial chief Maulana Attaur Rehman chaired the council’s meeting. It said that JUI-F had organised successful million marches in major cities and towns and the rally in Peshawar would also remain successful.

Following ‘million march’ in Peshawar the party would lockdown federal capital after Muharram against the policies of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government. It was decided that the party workers from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan would march towards Islamabad.

The statement said that arrest of politicians had exposed the so-called accountability of the government. It said that PTI government was ‘following’ international agenda to create economic crisis in the country. According to the statement, the ‘million march’ would prove a referendum against the present government.
