RAHIM YAR KHAN: A minor maid escaped from the house of her employers after alleged torture and a rickshaw driver handed her over to police on Tuesday.

had been working at Shahid Saleem’s house in Gulshan-i-Iqbal for the last six months.

Aleeza alleged that Shahid and his wife used to slap her often and she escaped from the house early in the morning when gate was unlocked.

A rickshaw driver found her on a road and took her to the police station. According to rickshaw driver, Aleeza was weeping on the Shahi Road near a private college when he saw her.

Some persons had recorded a video of the little girl and shared it with the police. The police registered a case against Shahid.

District Police Officer Umar Farooq Salamat said in a video message that police had taken immediate action after watching the video. He said the suspect, if found guilty, would face punishment according to the law.

On the other hand, Shahid’s brother told this correspondent that the allegations against his brother and sister-in-law were baseless as they treated her like their children.
