LAHORE: Following Punjab’s annual budget proposals, the fare of Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi/Islamabad metro bus service is likely to go up from Rs20 to Rs30 by next month.

“At present, we are charging Rs20 fare from each passenger travelling through Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan metro bus system. However, there will be Rs10 increase that is likely to take effect from next month,” a senior official of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority told Dawn.

He said though there was a proposal in the budget in this regard, the PMTA will increase the fare after receiving a notification from the government.
