Pak Post vs couriers

THIS is apropos the letter ‘Private couriers’ (May 29).

When I applied for a job (based at Khanpur), my documents reached one day later than the advertised date. The documents were not received and returned; thrice different people from the courier company contacted me for giving me back my returned document, but even after one month I did not receive anything.

For another job opening (based at Khusab) I delivered documents three days earlier, and thank God they reached just on the last day and at the eleventh hour. I lodged a formal complaint on the web portal of the company, stating both incidents and giving my cell number and email address.

However, to this date no one from the company empathised or replied.

Now I prefer what the writer said and use Pakistan Post. As against Rs280 charged by private courier company, just Rs60 are charged by the state-run postal service. And the beauty is that it reaches the next day. One can track one’s courier the way other companies offer.

However, Pakistan Post does not send ‘received’ message. I think Pakistan Post can easily introduce tabs to enter data at the time of registering and scanning devices can be connected with tabs to scan CNIC to save time of entering data.
