Players to watch

Mahmudullah
Bangladesh

ENGLAND will never forget the humiliating day at the Adelaide Oval in March 2015 when Bangladesh booted them out of the World Cup on the back of a brilliant century from Mahmudullah. The right-hander’s 103 from No.4 — his second of that tournament — gave his team a competitive total to defend. His role since then changed to that of a finisher, job he does with proficiency these days. Beware England.

Liam Plunkett
England

LIAM Plunkett comes across as a complete team-man because he never complains whenever he is asked to warm the England bench. Having played his first international in late 2005, the 32-year-old paceman made a good start to this World Cup with two wickets against South Africa before being left out for the next game. With over 120 ODI wickets under belt, Plunkett lends vast experience to a formidable bowling line-up.
