Turbat Polytechnic college to be upgraded, says minister

GWADAR: Provincial Minister for Finance Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has said the Balochistan government has decided to upgrade the Turbat Polytechnic College to the status of a B-Tech institute and convert the Turbat Nursing School into a nursing college.

Talking to a delegation of Kech Civil Society, led by its Convener Umar Hoot on Tuesday, he said the government was giving special attention to technical education and training of the youth to produce a pool of trained human resource in the province.

The civil society team informed the provincial minister about issues of the Kech district and urged the minister to address them on priority in the next budget.

The delegation demanded that in order to end electricity problem in Turbat and Kech areas, the provincial government should opt for solar power supply in the area so that the people could have access to uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the year.

The delegation also asked the minister to set up branches of Turbat Board and AG Office in Turbat city.

The minister assured the delegation that he would announce a relief package for the Kech district in near future.

He said that recommendations of members of Kech Civil Society would be included in the Public Sector Development Programme.

Mr Buledi also pledged to complete the channel of Mirani dam in near future.
