FAISALABAD: Siddique Ahmed was cursing former and present governments while trying to change the broken axle of his truck on the Faisalabad-Chiniot Road which is in poor condition.

Talking to Dawn, he said potholes on the road damaged vehicles, especially pick-ups and trucks .

Motorists face numerous problems due to the dilapidated condition of the road which connects Faisalabad with Chiniot, Sargodha and other districts.

Chiniot is just 33 km away from Faisalabad and the distance which can be covered within 25 minutes takes more than an hour. The travel time increases in case of an accident (which are frequent on the road) or damage to a heavy vehicle.

Those who commute daily say the road dualisation is required urgently considering the traffic load.
