Rs382.8m allocated for health schemes in Attock

TAXILA: A sum of Rs382.8 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year for 91 different public health schemes in Attock under Prime Minister Health Initiative Programme.

This was stated by Deputy Director Development Jamal Tariq while talking to newsmen here on Tuesday.

He said in a bid to provide all basic health facilities to the citizen at their doorsteps, Rs29.193 million were being spent on revamping of four rural health centres in Rangoo, Maghian, Domel and Chabb.

He was of the view that the provincial government had accorded top priority to improvement of public health facilities.

The official said Rs26.280 million would be spent on revamping of 40 basic health units in various rural and remote areas of the district.

He said Rs7.737 million have been earmarked for provision of missing facilities at 24 basic health units of the district.

Mr Tariq said a sum of Rs17.945 million would be spent on construction of a warehouse in District Headquarters Hospital Attock for storage of medicines while Rs1.6 million were being spent on revamping of labour rooms in the hospital.

He said a sum of Rs88 million had been allocated for nine schemes of public health engineering.

He said Rs212 million had been earmarked for rehabilitation of different roads of rural areas.

While replying to a question, Tariq Jamal said all these schemes would be completed before the end of the current financial year.
