Opposition in Balochistan concerned over Iran-US tension

QUETTA: Leaders of opposition parties have expressed concern over increasing tension between Iran and the United States and said Balochistan will be affected in case of a war between the two countries as they could use nuclear weapons.

Speaking at an Iftar-dinner hosted by Balochistan National Party-Mengal leader Lashkari Raisani at Sarawan House on Wednesday, they said parliament should take a decision about Pakistan’s role in such a situation.

Mr Raisani said Prime Minister Imran Khan should tell the nation who is behind him in running the affairs of the country. He called upon all political parties to help resolve the issues facing the country.

Leader of the Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly Malik Sikandar said opposition parties had decided to launch a movement against the government after Eid as it was destroying the country through wrong polices.

He claimed that the Balochistan government had failed to deliver and due to its incompetence Rs80 billion of provincial development programme have lapsed. The provincial government was in a fix how to plead its case about the National Finance Commission award.
