THE adage ‘knowledge is power’ has been proved by developing countries like Malaysia and Singapore which have emerged as Asian tigers by investing in the education sector. All developed countries have given top priority to the quality of education to meet the challenges of modern times.

The rapid increase in the number of private sector educational institutions in Pakistan emphasises the importance of education. However, despite the phenomenal growth, education standards for the most part are on the decline.

Every Pakistani today is directly affected by education’s plight as many of our children are not getting quality education, thus hampering the country’s development. The result: Pakistan is lagging behind other countries in the region in social indicators.
