Bilawal wants effective steps to prevent epidemics

KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Sindh offers the “best medical facilities” for patients from within the province and from the whole country, stressing the need for more effective measures for prevention of epidemic and transmittable diseases.

A statement issued by Bilawal House quoted the PPP chairman as speaking at a briefing on health issues by the Sindh government. Those present at the briefing included Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Pechuho, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information Murtaza Wahab and officials of the health department.

“Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was informed that a network of NICVD hospitals in upper, lower and middle parts of the province was providing round-the-clock modern facilities to the patients from all the four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan,” the statement said. “The PPP chairman told the relevant authorities that best possible medical facilities be made available to the people at their doorstep despite reduced federal fund transfer to the province as health has been given top priority by the PPP in its election manifesto.”
