Addict held for killing sister, niece over money

LAHORE: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested a man on Wednesday, three days after he allegedly killed his sister and a minor niece for not giving him money for drugs.

Ayesha Bibi and her minor daughter Amina (5) were found strangulated in their Katcha Jail Road residence on April 14 while her son Ahmad (2) was missing. The Lytton Road police lodged a case against unidentified killer(s) on the complaint of deceased’s brother Qaisar.

The double murder case was later transferred to the CIA for investigation. A police official said that the CIA detective traced the case using modern technology and arrested Usman, the brother of deceased Aysha.

During interrogation, he confessed to his crime, saying that he took the extreme step when she refused to give him money for drugs.

The official said Ayesha was the second wife of Hussain Madni, who used to spend five days a week with his first wife in a separate home in Samanabad area.

On the day of the incident, Madni was with his first wife.

The police official said Usman first intoxicated his sister and niece and then strangulated them to death.

He locked the house from outside and took Ahmad with him. He wore a helmet and went to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where he left Ahmad in a washroom of a ward and disappeared. The detective said that on being informed, the police recovered the baby and shifted him to the Child Protection Bureau.

He said the double murder incident surfaced when complainant Qaiser called Ayesha repeatedly for some days and found no response.

He then visited her home which was locked. On noticing foul smell, he alerted the police which later found decomposed bodies of Aysha and her daughter.

He said CCTV cameras on Katcha Jail Road and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital helped the police to trace the suspect.
