MUZAFFARGARH: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her father, former MNA Malik Noor Rabbani Khar, will appear in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday (today).

Sources said that the NAB had called the father-daughter duo in a case of accumulating assets illegally during their tenures as lawmakers. Kot Addu Assistant Commissioner Jam Aftab said that all revenue record of the Khar family had been sent to the NAB and on Wednesday his team would also attend the hearing.

Talking to Dawn, MNA Malik Raza Rabbani Khar claimed that his family was not involved in any corruption, adding that his father was an honest man.

TORTURE: Rung Pur police registered a case against a teacher of Madressah Jamia Hussainia Arabia for allegedly torturing a student and fracturing his arm.

District Police Officer (DPO) Ghazi Salahuddin took action against seminary teacher Sanaullah, who allegedly beat up seven-year-old Tanvir Ahmad with a baton.

Haq Nawaz, the father of Ahmad, told police that his son’s arm had been fractured because of the torture of the teacher, who also locked his son in a room and attempted to bandage up the arm. Ahmad was sent to the rural health centre for treatment.

The DPO told the Rung Pur station house officer to register the case, while police raided the seminary to arrest Sanaullah, who had fled from the spot.

According to the medical report, Ahmad’s arm had been fractured and backbone affected after the teacher threw the minor towards a wall for asking for a one-day leave.
