Alyani, Australian HC discuss investment opportunities

QUETTA: Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Margaret Adamson on Friday called on Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani and discussed with him investment opportunities in the province.

The high commissioner was also informed about the initiatives taken by the provincial government for socio-economic development of Balochistan. “We have been working on strategies to boost livestock, tourism and fisheries sectors which have the capacity to change the fortune of the impoverished people of Balochistan,” he said.

The chief minister informed Ms Adamson that the law and order situation in Balochistan was under control as the provincial government was focusing on security, while the fencing of border along Afghanistan had curbed the cross-border movement of terrorists.

The Australian high commissioner said her government was willing to invest in Balochistan’s natural resources and taking part in the province’s development through multi-donor trust funds. “We have been providing assistance to the provincial government in rehabilitation of the people affected by floods in Pishin and Qila Abdullah,” she added.
