Three ‘kidnappers’ killed in Peshawar encounter

PESHAWAR: Three suspected kidnappers were killed in an encounter with Counter-Terrorism Department personnel on the southern fringes of the capital city on Thursday, police said.

A CTD spokesperson said the police were looking for the suspects on a tip-off that a gang of alleged kidnappers was likely to enter the provincial capital from Khyber tribal district.

He said the suspected kidnappers and police personnel exchanged fire on Kishan Ghar Road falling in the limits of Mattani police station, which left three suspects dead, while two others managed to escape.

The killed suspects were identified as Sher Zada, Imran and Ayazullah, who were wanted in cases of kidnapping for ransom and targeted killings. Police also recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
