Noise at hospitals

RAFIQUI Shaheed Road is the main thoroughfare of three large tertiary care hospitals of Karachi. Noise pollution here is at an alarming level which adds to the agony of patients and their relatives.

It is not just the ambulances blowing their sirens but every car and bus passing adds to the growing noise by unrestrained use of horns. Despite the display of ‘no pressure horns’ traffic signs at various points and the presence of multiple traffic police, the noise continues to go unchecked.

It will be a great service to the huge number of patients and their families if the authorities concerned are able to implement the already existing law for reducing noise pollution.
