BADIN: A constable in traffic police committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope from the roof of his house in Nathan Rebari village near Tando Bago town on Wednesday.

The constable’s relatives told journalists that Pehlaj Kumar, 31, took the extreme step in utter desperation and hopelessness as he failed to pay back a loan he had taken from a moneylender a few months ago and he could no more stand the daily insult the lender subjected him to.

The policeman’s body was handed over to heirs after autopsy at the town’s hospital.
