ABBOTTABAD: A wild animal killed an eight-year-old boy in the Namli Mira area of Galiyat here on Monday.

According to the police, the victim, Sufiyan, son of Saeed, of Chanati village in Namli Mira area, was playing outside his house when he was attacked by the animal.

The mutilated body was later recovered from a ravine late in the night, according to locals.

Sardar Mohammad Iqbal, a local resident, while talking to mediapersons, demanded of the wildlife department to monitor the movement of wild animals which were posing a threat to humans in the region.

He said that efforts should be made to catch the beasts.

It should be noted that the current winter season has broken the past 30 years record of snowfall, and due to unprecedented snowfall, wild animals have come down to the populated areas in Galiyat and started damaging the property and attacking cattle heads and humans.
