Radio employees’ SOS

RADIO Pakistan protects the geographical and ideological boundaries of our country round the clock. However, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation employees are facing multiple problems which is affecting their working.

The reimbursement of employees’, pensioners’ and widows’ medical bills has been held in abeyance for 17 months. The hospitals on the PBC’s panel have suspended facilities to employees as their bills have not been cleared by management.

The employees’ commutation of pension and the GP Fund payment along with lump-sum grant to the heirs of deceased employees have also not been disbursed for years owing to paucity of funds.

The 10 per cent increase in pay announced in the 2018-19 federal budget has not been paid to employees despite the release of a special grant by the federal government.

The efforts of the United Staff Organisation, which is the collective bargaining agent, to persuade the PBC management to alleviate employees’ sufferings have fallen on deaf ears.

The federal government is urged to resolve the issues being faced by the employees of Radio Pakistan.
