All PSL matches to be played in Pakistan: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday announced that the next edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) would be played entirely in Pakistan.

“Pakistan is a secure country today,” he said while unveiling the country’s new visa policy here.

The first two editions of PSL were entirely held in the UAE. In the third edition, only three matches, including the final, were played in Pakistan and the rest in the UAE. In the fourth edition currently under way, 34 matches are to be played in all, with Pakistan’s share limited to only eight.

Mr Khan said that as a former cricketer he knew well how boring it was to play matches in almost-empty stadiums. He said Pakistan had embarked on a new path leading to peace.

He expressed the hope that after elections in India, Pakistan would have good relations with all its neighbours, including India.
