Five terrorists arrested in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The security forces and the Counter-Terrorism Department on Tuesday arrested five terrorists from Mansehra district.

“The security forces and the CTD personnel conducted an intelligence-based operation and two important terrorists and their three accomplices involved in subversive activities across Hazara have been arrested,” a press release issued by ISPR on Tuesday said.

The joint operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul- Fasad on an intelligence sharing between security agencies, and the arrested terrorists, who were blindfolded, were shifted to an undisclosed location.

The apprehended terrorists were involved in sabotage activities in Hazara, including targeting police and military convoys, target killing of LEAs and attack on Imambarghas.

The sources confirmed arrest of two high profile militants identified as Mohammad Talah and Tayyab Shah.

“Besides, the security forces also arrested three accomplices namely Ahmad Shah, Aizaz Shah and Salahuddin,” the sources said.

Mansehra police also confirmed arrest of the terrorists and said a press conference had been called at the district police office on Wednesday (today).

“At this stage I can only confirm the arrest of five terrorists as we are going to hold a press conference today (Wednesday) where a comprehensive report of subversive activities carried out by the arrested terrorists would also be shared with media,” said a police officer on condition of anonymity.
