CS for provision of anti-rabies vaccine in hospitals

LAHORE: Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar on Saturday took serious notice of dog-bite incidents and non-availability of anti-rabies vaccine in hospitals, asking the authorities to look into the matter.

Presiding over a meeting, he said protection of life of people was the prime responsibility of the government and no negligence could be tolerated in this regard. He directed the local government secretary to launch a special campaign for protection of people in the suburbs and katchi abadis where most dog-bite incidents took place.

Mr Khokhar mentioned that all necessary facilities would be ensured in hospitals for victims of dog bite. He also issued instructions to the deputy commissioners to devise a plan to eliminate stray dogs and submit reports every week.
