Pakistan beat Sri Lanka to complete blind T20 series whitewash

COLOMBO: Pakistan thrashed Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the third and last T20 clash of the blind cricket series in the 3rd T-20 International to complete a 3-0 whitewash that followed their 3-0 whitewash of the ODI series played last week at the BRC Ground.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first and restricted Sri Lanka to 194 for 2 in the stipulated 20 overs due to some accurate bowling and tight fielding. A Silva batted superbly to score another fine century, his second consecutive in this T-20 series, but the hosts could not to pile up a big score despite having wickets in hand.

Chandana Deshapriya made 29 runs. For Pakistan, Fakhar Abbas was the only successful bowler to claim a wicket.

Chasing 195, Pakistan sent Moeen Aslam and Sanaullah Khan to open the innings. Eighteen years old Moen, who was playing his 1st T-20 innings and made a good impression with a 39 ball 77 runs, he was caught on the bowling of Rajakaruna. Sanauallh played well for 67 off 31 balls, he was caught by Saman. Rajakaruna was the bowler. Pakistan reached home safely in 14.4 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Shafiullah and Matiullah remained unbeaten on 24 and 11 runs respectively.

Mrs H.A. Hema Perera, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Social Empowerment and Welfare, Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council and the Former President World Blind Cricket Ltd, Syed Salman Bokhari, Senior Vice President World Blind Cricket Ltd and Chaminda Pushpakumara Vice President World Blind Cricket Ltd were the guests of honour on the occasion and gave away the prizes.
