PESHAWAR: PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam launched reorganisation of the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Peshawar and dissolved all its organisational units here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the workers meeting at party’s provincial secretariat here, he said that the process of reorganisation would be completed by March 15.

Mr Muqam told Dawn that organising committees had been announced in all the 14 provincial assembly constituencies of Peshawar which would be supervised by him and a special monitoring committee, saying that the youth wing would also be reorganised simultaneously.

He said that the process would continue in different districts where names of the organising committees would be finalised soon to invigorate the party units.

All party units in Peshawar dissolved

He said that Peshawar had a unique status in the province where a strong party structure was a must to become a role model for rest of the areas.

“We are planning to reorganise the party from the village council level under a monitoring system with mutual understanding of workers of relevant localities,” he said and added that the reorganisation process had been initiated according to the party constitution.

Mr Muqam said that the future of his party was bright due to the services its government had rendered in the past.

He claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had failed to bring any positive change in the fate of people despite its tall claims.

He said that the PTI’s performance could be judged from failure of its government to complete the Bus Rapid Transit project within the stipulated period.

He said that the government’s negligence caused delay in the project and cost escalation and thus the people of the province would face its financial consequences.

Referring to the visit of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, the leaguer said that PML-N had welcomed his visit and described it very useful for the country.

He said the credit went to PML-N’s previous government which had already worked on different projects and raised the issue of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi prisons, but the release was delayed due to data collection about the inmates.

Other leaders of the party also shared their views during the workers meeting and gave suggestions about the reorganisation process at different levels.
