Children up to 10 years to get anti-polio drops

RAWALPINDI: Children up to 10 years of age would be administrated polio drops in 16 union councils of Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) during the campaign starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

Talking to this agency, the in charge anti-polio drive, Chaudhry Mohammad Hussain, said the previous age limit for administering polio drops was five years.

The government has decided to adopt a zero-tolerance policy to administer polio vaccinations to children up to 10 years of age, he added.

During the drive, Mr Hussain said polio drops would be given to children up to the age of 10 in 10 union councils of the city while six wards of Rawalpindi cantonment area have been declared high-risk areas.
