QUETTA: Jamaat-i-Islami secretary general Liaquat Baloch has said Pakistan can’t afford any “NRO given to sacred cows” because impartial accountability has become basic requirement for the country’s progress.

Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had failed to fulfil the promises it had made with the people before last year’s general elections and after coming to government.

He said that due to its poor performance, popularity graph of the government was nose-diving and “bitter attitude” of the rulers was worsening the situation in the country.
