MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to bring a no-confidence motion against PML-N district nazim after by-election in PK-30 here on Feb 26.

“We have evolved our strategy to oust PML-N district nazim. We will submit a no-confidence motion against him in the council after a green signal from our leadership,” Shahid Rafique, opposition leader in the district council, told mediapersons here on Sunday.

He claimed that PTI had gained majority in the district council after the elections held some three years ago, but defections by some of its minority and women members deprived it of forming the government.

“We have now gained the required number to oust the district nazim through a no-confidence motion,” said Mr Rafique. He said that his party was also in contact with others parties in the council for their support for the no-confidence motion, which might be tabled following by-election in PK-30, which would be held on Feb 26 this year.

He said that his party would also win the by-election in PK-30 constituency, which had fallen vacant after the Supreme Court disqualified PML-N lawmaker Mian Ziaur Rehman in fake degree case last year.

Meanwhile, PML-N leader Mazhar Ali Qasim speaking at a public gathering in Kawai said that the PTI government had miserably failed to address problems being faced by the people in Balakot and Kaghan valley. He said that his rival in the coming election had already remained a minister, but didn’t fulfil the promise of change.

Speaking at a public meeting in Kaghan, PTI leader Ahmad Hussain Shah said that change was imminent in Balakot tehsil. He said that PML-N remained in power twice following the 2005 earthquake, but couldn’t address core issues of the survivor families.
