Crackdown on NCP vehicles begins today

PESHAWAR: The provincial government has announced to launch a crackdown on the non-custom paid vehicles and fake registration from Monday (today). It also decided to computerise the registration process on emergency basis to overcome the use of forged documents.

According to a statement, the decision was taken in a meeting at the excise and taxation office on Sunday with the department’s secretary Riaz Khan Mehsud in the chair.

The meeting was attended by the relevant officials who talked about digitalisation of different sections of the department and future roadmap for control on the use of fake registrations.

Mr Mehsud informed the officials about the financial targets for the current financial year and said that the issues related to shortage of human resource would be resolved soon by making new appointments in different sections.

He asked the relevant officials to set up tax facilitation offices at divisional levels. He opposed the idea of shoulder promotion and said that lists should be prepared to take steps for promotion of the staff on seniority basis.
