Action planned against absentee teachers

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to take action against teachers and other staff of the education department for remaining absent from duty.

A meeting presided over by Education Secretary Mohammad Tayyab Lehri reviewed the overall performance of the provincial education department and decided to suspend the educational staff of Kech district who have not been attending their duty but drawing salaries.

Show-cause notices were issued to 142 employees of the Kech education department who had been found absent from duty for a long time, while four staff members in Pishin district were sacked. The absent employees were directed to immediately reply to the show-cause notices, otherwise they would be removed from service.
