Guard found shot dead in Defence

KARACHI: A security guard was found shot dead in Defence Housing Authority on Saturday. The police said he committed suicide.

Saddam Husain, 30, a security guard of a private company, shot himself with a 12-bore repeater of the company at around 12.34pm.

He ended his life at a bungalow situated on 26th Street in Phase VI, said Darakhshan police officer Faiz Ali, adding that the motive for the offence could not be ascertained immediately.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil legal formalities. A JPMC official said that the deceased received a bullet wound on the abdomen.

10 suspects ‘involved in street crimes’ held

Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Saturday claimed to have arrested 11 suspects, including 10 allegedly involved in street crimes.

The paramilitary force conducted actions in the Saeedabad, Madina Colony, Saudabad and Superhighway areas and detained 10 suspects involved in street crimes and robberies, said a spokesperson for the Rangers.

Separately, the force personnel detained a suspect in the Chakiwara area on charges of selling drugs. Subsequently, the held suspects were handed over to the police concerned for further legal action.

Decomposed body

The decomposed body of a man was found in the Bin Qasim area. The police believe that he died from an overdose of drugs.

The body of 30-year-old Jehangir Abbas was recovered in the bushes near a private school in Eido Goth.

Area SHO Arif Razzak said that apparently there were no injury marks on his body. The corpse was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities.
