KHAIRPUR Medical College was set up in 2015. However, from day one the institution has been a non-starter.

It has been four years since the college was set up and to date it has failed to acquire recognition from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The PMDC’s reluctance to confer recognition upon Khairpur Medical College is because the institution has not yet met their criteria for a teaching hospital.

In recent days the students and staff have held protest rallies in Sukkur and Khairpur demanding recognition, whereas there is a serious issue of shortage of teaching staff and other necessities.

PMDC delegations visited the college on many occasions and told the college administration to address the anomalies pointed out but to no avail. And today, the future of hundreds of students is at stake.
