Chinese official discusses uplift projects with Alyani

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani held a meeting with the director of China Construction and Engineering Corporation, Gao Fan, on Wednesday over the prospects of development in the province under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Mr Gao while expressing his interest on taking part in provincial development said: “Our Company has been working in M5 section of Eastern Corridor of CPEC and the project has reached the last phase and we want to contribute in the development of Balochistan”. He also shared his company’s interest in the construction of Nokundi Mashkal-Panjgur Highway.

Lauding the interest of Chinese company, Mr Alyani said the provincial government was willing to work with Chinese companies following the official partnership policy and termed the development over western route imperative for the people of Balochistan.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured construction of Zhob-Karachi two-way highway,” Jam Kamal said and invited the company to contribute in the development of different highways and proposed Gawadar industrial and export processing zones.

Mr Gao accepted the invitation and informed Mr Alyani that experts of his company would soon visit Balochistan to study the projects.
